Thailand was great. The food is yummy, the traveling is easy, the people are nice. It's an awesome place to travel for cheap. We started with just one and a half days of sightseeing in Bangkok. Luckily, we were able to see the temporary crematorium that was erected for King Rama IX - Bhumibol Adulyadej. Soon we escaped to the north - to Chiang Mai - a more relaxed, easy-going city. One can spend a lot of time in and around Chiang Mai as there are a lot of waterfalls, caves and other attractions to discover. After a week in Chiang Mai we hitchhiked our way to Pa Pae, where we took part in a meditation retreat. We then continued via Pai, Mae Hong Son, Mae Sariang all the way to the Myanmar border crossing at Mae Sot, where our Thailand adventure ended - at least so far!
